Arrival/Dismissal Procedures

- Every morning for entrance time, all students will have an assigned area to line up outside the schools' Main Doors.
- PreK Room 111 will enter at their classroom door, which is Door 15 next to the small playground. The doors will be closed at 8:30 am. If you arrive late, after 8:30 a.m. you will have to enter through the main entrance at the front of the school.
- PreK Room 121 and Room 122 will enter at the door that is closest to their classroom, which is Door 2, located on the side of the parking lot by the basketball court.
- Our official entrance time is 8:15 a.m.
- If you are picking up your child prior to dismissal, please report to the main office. All adults must show an ID to pick up students. If you plan on picking up students before dismissal time, please be aware that the latest time you will be allowed to come into the building will be at 2:30 pm. NO EXCEPTION
- Student dismissal:
- Grades K, 1st, and 2nd will be dismissed from the Main Doors.
- Grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th will be dismissed from Door 14, located next to the baseball field.
- PreK 111 will be dismissed from Door 15 next to the small playground.
- PreK 121 and 122 will be dismissed from Door 2, located on the side of the parking lot by the basketball court.
- At 3:30 p.m. any remaining students will be taken to the main entrance doors.
- All bus students will be sent to the cafeteria and will be escorted to the bus by staff members.
- Bus students will line up by the curved driveway at the front of the school on Beard Street and be escorted by an adult.
- Our children’s safety is our top priority. Together we will work as a school community to ensure their safety. If you have any questions or suggestions, please come and speak to any of the administrators.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Pathways to Potential Success Coach assigned to Roberto Clemente Learning Academy will be able to:
-Provide support with the health, safety, self-sufficiency, education and chronic absenteeism of students and their families.
-Assist with removing barriers that prevent access to health care, increase access to mental health resources, and support good hygiene and physical fitness.
-Promote and encourage perfect attendance with all students!
-Answer questions about DHHS cases if you have them.

School Dress Code
Our school requires a uniform.
Our School Colors
white, dark blue, light blue, and yellow
Slacks and Pants
* Color: All slacks and pants must be a solid color: Khaki, navy blue, or black. (Leggings and tights are not allowed.)
* Style: Slacks and pants can be pleated or flat front, full length and appropriately fastened at the waist.
* Material: Cotton, canvas, corduroy, linen, polyester, wool or fabric blends.
* Belts: If the garment has belt loops a belt should be worn at all times
Tops
* Shirts and blouses must have buttoned down or straight collars. Turtlenecks and polo styles are permitted. At the school’s discretion tops must be worn tucked inside pants, slacks, or skirts.
* Color: All students shall wear approved colors required by the school
* Style: Long and short sleeves with a collar required. Turtlenecks and polo styles permitted.
* Logos: Manufacturer trademarks, if any, must be one inch or less. DPSCD school logos are permitted and are not limited in size.
Skirts and Jumpers/Skorts
* Color: Khaki, navy blue and black, in a solid, single color.
* Style: Skirts must be at least knee length.
Jackets, Cardigans, and Sweaters
* Color: Should match an accepted uniform color.
* Style: All must be worn over a collared shirt, turtleneck, or polo style top.
* Hooded Jacket: Hoods are not be worn (on the head) during the school day
Footwear
* Style: Athletic shoes, laced shoes and/or other shoe boots, loafers, dress shoes, or other closed toed/closed heel shoes.
* Students are prohibited from wearing -toed boots or shoes to school.
* Mules are inappropriate.
